EQUINE ENTHUSIAST SCHOLARSHIP

Do you have a child who dreams of learning to ride horses? Or are you a school-aged individual ready to take your first steps into the world of horseback riding? Maybe you already have a horse and want to improve your skills with guidance from a professional horse trainer? If so, we have an opportunity for you. 

Horseback riding lessons and horse ownership are big commitments, and sometimes it’s best to try things out before taking the leap. Through a program funded by the Washington State Paint Horse Club (WSPHC), young riders in 4th grade and higher, who meet our program’s requirements, may receive up to $250 in financial support for riding lessons or lease opportunities at approved facilities near their home. 

This program is designed to help aspiring riders and their families discover if horseback riding is a good fit, without the initial pressure of horse ownership.

WSPHC can help connect you with approved instructors who offer school horses or haul-in opportunities in your area. Together, we’ll set up a lesson plan that supports everyone’s needs.

The Washington State Paint Horse Club

Eligibility and Program Requirements:
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Recipients are selected based on interest, commitment, and application quality. The number of scholarships awarded each year is at the discretion of the WSPHC.

1. Rider must be in the 4th grade or higher
2. Must be able to provide own transportation to and from an approved instructor in your area
3. Submit a written essay paragraph with application
4. Keep a riding journal to be submitted WSPHC via the club President.

APHA Endowment Scholarship for Zone One Youth

WSPHC has an endowment Scholarship with APHA, started in 2005. It’s $1,000 annually renewable for another 3 yrs. It was set up to be awarded to a student from our Zone One area. We have many youths in our Club. If you are interested into checking out applying.
